Equal4all rating: 4.5 disco balls

My boyfriend and I recently attended the Arctica Bar & Grill in the NYC for my cousin’s joint birthday party. At first, I was quite hesitant to attend and even had a back-up plan if the evening was destined to end in shambles somehow – but, alas, the night was perfecto!

Yes, it is a predominately straight establishment, but that’s hardly beside the point – my boyfriend and I felt right at home. My cousin rented out the lower bar, conveniently called the “Ice bar,” where private parties are held.

The Ice bar comes equipped with a 25 ft. private cash bar made entirely out of glass, digital jukebox, personal pool table, private bouncers, and even a private exit … talk about celebrity treatment!

The manager, James, is an absolute sweetheart; he came down to join us on several occasions and by the end of the night, was buying many of us complimentary shots. James is the perfect manager – he caters to your party’s specific needs and does it with a smile on his face … bravo, James!

On another note, the drinks will not split your wallet whatsoever and those who tend bar are 100% professional and knowledgeable on what drinks will go down smoothly.

  1. I think I’ve been to this place before. Great spot!
